Thanksgiving Gathering 2012

The Pilgrims set ground at Plymouth Rock on December 11th, 1620. That winter was devastating. At the beginning of the following fall, they had lost nearly half of the original 102 who sailed on the Mayflower. But the harvest of 1621 was a bountiful one. And the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast and sharing their blessings with the 91 natives who had helped the Pilgrims survive their first year. It is believed that the Pilgrims would not have made it through without the help of the natives.

Let this be your inspiration as it is mine.

As the year draws to an end and we celebrate our “good harvest”, let us not forget to share with the Natives, our neighbors.

Milton Membership

I would like to invite you to join the Milton Public Hall association if you are a newcomer to our community, or if you are currently a member, to remind you that dues are now payable ($25.00 for everyone). Additional donations are always needed if you are able. Payment of dues entitle you to receive the newsletter, rent the Hall at the members’ rate, attend events and receive a directory (soon to be updated) of MPHA members.

The Hall, along with the churches, stands as one of the landmarks of the village and it is important to maintain it. Many folks contribute time, talent and sweat to the upkeep of the Hall. The rest of us contribute financially to help with the insurance, electric bills, painting, repairs as needed, and other expenses of a building that is over 100 years old. Milton has a rich history and we hope you’ll join us in being part of its future. MPHA helps weave us together in a way that is not intrusive (the only ‘social networking’ is actual!) but strengthens this community for the common good.

Know in advance that your dues and donations are received with gratitude and will be used wisely and well.

Please make checks payable to M.P.H.A. and send to Charlene Barbacci 431 Milton Road, Litchfield Ct 06759 or Susan Eanes 12 Headquarters Road, Litchfield.
