The White Oak Gun Club presently has 15 paying members. Their goal is to eventually have over 50 members. Annual dues are $3000 to belong plus a hefty initiation fee. Extensive logging is taking place on the property north of Blue Swamp Rd., perhaps with the idea of expanding the shooting activity in this area. Nick Boyden is listed as the Managing Partner of the club which suggests this is some kind of commercial venture in a residential zone.

Who is this Jim Koser and why is he the tree warden? Did he ever stop to think if he lets all the trees be cut he will be out of a job. Are we to rename Maple St to Powerlline Road? It is so unthinkable that this could happen. Move your lines, leave our trees. It’s that simple

CL&P is resonsible for the tree cutting. I was asked to sign a consent form for Lewis Tree Service to do the work. The contact person is Jim Haiko 860-819-2538 or CL&P customer service # is 1-800-286-2000. My children were sad about it too.

Holly and I attended the illustrators exhibit. The place was packed with people and we met several of the authors, including Mo. We saw several Miltonites while there. The spirit was festive with much of interest to study in the large building. Holly "sort of" agreed to go on the 27th, but got quite excited about it, once there. I can add that there is a ton of talent in northwest Connecticut. We are very happy to be a part of this wonderful community.

Holly just saw a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. She says she hasn't seen one of those for quite awhile. For my part, they all look like birds to me, but I'm trying to pick up on the flora and fauna hereabouts. Our feeder in the back yard I constructed from the steel upright from the old (and ugly) TV antenna I took down about four years ago. It has not, to date, been molested by any bears living in the area.
