MPHA Semi-Annual Meeting on May 9

While the winter was not as bad as some had predicted, it is always a wonderful part of Spring to have the robins back on our lawns and the forsythia starting to bloom. Not so welcome is the family of bears, who have been sighted on Headquarters Road exploring the area for food.

The Hall has been busy even in the cold days of winter and I thank Laura and Bill Dunn again for their yeoman work in taking reservations and making sure the building is ready for events. As we drive by we can see the daffodils on either side of the front door. We appreciate the time and effort many have put into keeping the Hall looking good, but especially John Baker for the plantings in front. Of course, Bobby Fischer is there for tree lighting, snow plowing and any repairs. It is truly a reflection of support in the community for the Milton Public Hall for which we are all grateful.

Remember that the Semi-Annual Meeting of the Milton Public Hall Association is on May 9, 2006 at 7 p.m. We welcome all members and other interested parties. At this meeting a Nominating Committee will be elected for the purpose of preparing a slate of officers for 2006-08 to be voted on in September. Some of the vacancies to be filled are: President, Vice President, and Membership Chair. If you are willing to serve in any capacity, please be in touch with Web Janssen, Chair of the Nominating Committee, at 567-0762.

I look forward to seeing you on the 9th.

Malcolm Forbes, President MPHA
